C-BAND Spectrum: Myth vs Fact

Repurposing C-band spectrum for mobile broadband deployment will help America win the race to 5G, as other countries study repurposing their own mid-band spectrum for internet use. A number of groups, including the C-Band Alliance (CBA), claim that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should allow for a “private-sale” of this critical segment of spectrum, instead […]

13 Free Market Groups Applaud FCC for C-Band Efforts

Taxpayers Protection Alliance partnered with thirteen additional free-market groups to send a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding their efforts to free up the 3.7 to 4.2 GHz Band (mid-band, or “C-band”) for internet services. Repurposing C-band spectrum for mobile broadband deployment will help America win the race to 5G, as other countries study repurposing their own mid-band spectrum for internet use. A number of groups, including the C-band Alliance (CBA), claim that the FCC should allow for a “private-sale” of this critical segment of spectrum, instead of having the FCC repurpose the spectrum to help close the digital divide.

Foreign Satellite Operators’ Scheme is Bad for Taxpayers

The C-Band Alliance (CBA), a coalition of foreign operated satellite companies, is lobbying the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in hopes of convincing them to grant the authority to re-sell on the secondary market a crucial U.S. asset, mid-band (“c-band”) spectrum, for 5G deployment. While this may sound good on paper, this group of foreign actors […]

CCAGW Applauds Sen. John Kennedy’s Fight Against Foreign Corporate Welfare

Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) applauded Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) for his support of a public auction for C-band spectrum, which would provide transparency to taxpayers and prevent U.S.-owned spectrum from being sold by foreign companies in countries like Luxembourg. Sen. Kennedy strongly advocated that the Federal Communications Commission pursue policies that put […]

The FCC Shouldn’t Hand Control of 5G Spectrum to Foreign Operators

A coalition of foreign satellite companies hopes to convince the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to free up spectrum for 5G through private sales. But, that plan would put strategic American taxpayer assets in the hands of overseas businesses and slow the deployment of 5G wireless. The FCC is in the midst of freeing up as […]
